Swept Away at the Emmys
Sunday evening is the time to check out the glamour, the bling, and of course, the red-carpet hairstyles of the Emmy awards. Doing a bit of research on my own, I’m noticing quite a few of TV’s leading ladies in oh-so-smooth hairdos with side swept bangs. Whether it’s Tina Fey or Christina Hendricks, Kate Winslet or the gals from Glee, bangs are framing these famous faces. Fortunately for the rest of us, this is an easy act to follow.
If you haven’t tried bangs since elementary school, this is a great style to experiment with. Side swept bangs are long enough to be versatile. When you don’t want them, you can pull them back and incorporate them into your longer strands. And when you want to look like a star, they’re easy to style – even easier when you use Organix Moroccan Smooth Perfection Blow Out Cream. It’s great for creating these smooth, sleek styles that the stars are loving, AND it reduces your blow drying time!
Start with a shampoo and conditioner that will moisturize and fight your frizzies – like Organix Moroccan Argan Oil Shampoo and Conditioner. They’ll pamper your tresses with the hydration they need to be smooth, silky and shiny, giving you a great look whether you twist your hair up or leave it loose and tousled.
While your hair is still towel-dry, apply Moroccan Smooth Perfection Blow Out Cream to your palm, rub your hands together and spread this lush lotion throughout your hair, but especially on your bangs. Don’t worry – it won’t leave a residue. Blow dry your hair, but leave your bangs till last – they’re getting special attention!
Use a radial brush – it’s perfect for side swept bangs because you can pull your hair straight while curling the ends. With your brush under your bangs, pull your hair to the side. Your radial brush needs to be small enough to give some tension as you pull.
Set your blow dryer on low heat. Start at your roots and move along the length of your bangs while keeping the tension with your brush. Repeat until your bangs are dry, then seal the style with a shot of cold air. Finish with a light shot of hair spray, and you’ll be ready for those paparazzi!
