im confused here... you say there are no sulfates, but the 2nd ingredient on the coconut shampoo is type of sulfate? disodium bisulfate?
ReplyDeleteI can understand your confusion but I happen to know someone who knows a bit about chemistry! She says Disodium Laureth Sulfosuccinate has not been sulfated in the production process which makes it free of sulfates. Sulfosuccinates are the sodium salts of alkyl ester of sulfosuccinic acid not sulfuric acid. Sulfates are salts of sulfuric acid.
ReplyDeleteThis surfactant is a very mild surfactant and can be found in many sulfate free shampoos that are on the market today.
For me this explanation makes my purchase of Organix worry free!
Re the packaging: why are the shampoo and conditioner bottles so hard to tell apart? some folks can't read in the shower without glasses/contacts or that first cup of coffee, and the lack of difference in the shampoo and conditioner bottles makes things a bit tricky in the morning. A different color cap would make a HUGE difference.
